In the picture hanging in the center, Paul pictures life after death as being fully clothed. He thought of being found naked in public a nightmare. To be properly clothed was to have this present mortal life “swallowed up,” fully transformed by resurrection life. It was not to be left in some “naked,” transitory, “halfway state.” It was to be immediately accepted into the heavenly dwelling without shame.
